Clinical Innovations, LLC acquires technologies from Glenveigh Medical

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – April 22, 2014 — Clinical Innovations, LLC (CI) announced today that it has acquired the ebb® complete tamponade system and the jetty™ vaginal repair balloon from Glenveigh Medical for an undisclosed amount. In addition, Jeffrey Bradford has joined CI from Glenveigh as vice president of global marketing.
Glenveigh Medical has pioneered innovative products for addressing critical obstetric clinical needs, such as postpartum hemorrhage. In particular, the ebb complete tamponade system offers significant advancements over the current standard of care. “Clinical Innovations’ focused labor & delivery sales and marketing channel will help ensure more physicians and patients have access to this life-saving device,” said Shacey Petrovic, president and CEO of CI. “We are committed to developing technologies that assist our customers in improving obstetric management, safety and outcomes, and the addition of these products to our market-leading portfolio will help us achieve this mission.”
“Postpartum hemorrhage is the most preventable cause of maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide, and it is on the rise,” said Dr. David Adair, chief scientific officer of Glenveigh Medical. “Improved treatment options, like the dual-balloon feature of ebb, which enables tamponade of both vaginal and uterine bleeding, along with more aggressive treatment protocols, are necessary to improve outcomes associated with postpartum hemorrhage.”
As part of this transaction, Bradford, former vice president of marketing for Glenveigh Medical, has joined CI as vice president of global marketing. Petrovic added, “We are pleased to have Jeff join our team. I am confident we will benefit from his deep market expertise and successful track record of commercializing new technologies in the obstetrics space.” Bradford has spent the last 19 years in sales and marketing leadership roles with innovative obstetrics technology companies, including Glenveigh Medical, Neoventa Medical and CI.
A clinical assessment of ebb appeared in February’s issue of The American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, where it was reported to decrease or stop bleeding in 98% of cases.1 CI will feature the next-generation ebb tamponade system at the upcoming ACOG Annual Clinical Meeting in Chicago on April 27-30.
